Sorry

Just dropping in to write a note to say sorry that I have stopped blogging. I know that a few of you out there were following my blog rather closely and have commented on how upset they are that I stopped blogging. Well, I am back, and I am bad!!! I am ready to continue. I took the summer off of my life and now I have been thrust back into it full swing and I am ready to start sharing all of my experiences over the course of this tournament season! It is going to be a very difficult season for me.

So, I met my goal of getting below 70 kilos for this tournament season. So, I am in a whole new category,w ehre the girls are smaller, faster, and far scarier! I am going to go to some BIG tournaments this year and we shall see what happens. I have changed up my training, and therefore, my judo is changing. It will be interesting this year!!! Stay tuned!
I have lots to share!

Too long...

It has been way too long since I got a chance to sit down and write something. I guess that is a good thing... I have actually been enjoying my life instead of training! I have still been going to th gym, but nothing crazy... th craziness will start next week once school is over!
BUT, tonight was exciting! I got the opportunity to promote my girls to yellow belts!!! It is so exciting! These are my first students. I took them from knowing nothing of judo to this... and I will take them beyond. It was so cool. They were kind of confused as to what was going on at first, but then it sunk in! They so deserve it!! That is really all I have to say today!!!

ANOTHER INJURY....

So, it is official... I have another injury... nowhere near as bad as the foot... but worse in a way since it was inflicted on me by another person....
yes, I was hit by a car... but it was exacerbated by the idiocy of another person
I really don't want to talk too much about it righ tnow as I am very upset. I was looking forward to an injury free summer of training....

Not too much to say....

Sunday... Went to spin class, went to judo - taught the kids at judo on account of my new elbow injury.... walked to bloor street for the festival, went home.
Monday... Taught a kick-ass judo class, I like to call it "Fun with hip throws". The ladies loved it!!! Then, I went to the pool, only did 30 lengths yesterday since my elbow wasn't so happy....
today.... Supposed to go for a run after school before going to bjj, but I am not feeling fabulous. I woke up in the middle of the night while having an asthma attack in my sleep - not fun. But I guess we shall see as the day progresses how I feel.
That is it really... this superhero's life is pretty boring right now, which is how I like it!

Hill Running?

So, I did it, I ran the hill.... we did ten hill sprints before packing it in! Next time - 12!!!!!
Oh boy, this is going to be one long summer!!!
Anyhow, I had a really nice day after that. I rode my bike to the gym, did the stairmaster for twenty minutes and then did a 45 minute spin class before riding all the way to the dojo to give a semi-private lesson to two of the girls. And then, I finally got home. By 1:00, I had already been out and about, working out and stuff for 6 hours!! Crazy stuff
After I took a nap, I really felt like being active again, so back on my trust bike I got and rode down to kensington adn then to college and bathurst and then bloor and then finally home.... I need to be more active... MORE ACTIVE!!!!

Bad Day for the Superhero....

So, even people with superpowers such as myself have bad days. There is nothing we can do. I might have the superpower to read the minds of fiendish children, but I don't have the power to stop an asshole in a cream coloured panel van from hitting me while on my bike yesterday on my way to judo.
First things first - I AM OK
BUT, what isn't ok is the fact that, there is little Tami, riding along the side of the road, hugging the curb as closely as she can, being a good little cyclist, when WHAM, a van clipped behind the elbow with his sideview mirror. Thank God that he only got me with his side view mirror, damn that hurt. I screamed at him as I was getting back on my bike, so the asshole looked over his shoulder, realized what he had done, and sped away. So, I got on my bike and pedalled these little legs as fast as they would go to try to catch up to him and get a license plate number. But alas, as Anna always tells me, I need to grow longer legs and he got away. I decided that my new superpower is 'legs shorter than a grasshopper'.
Anyhow, I still went to the judo club, because well, I don't know where else to go!!! And there was a rather unfortunate incident there involving me, my elbow, and someone cranking on an arm lock even tighter when I yell to stop. Why do I do this crap to myself? Needless to say, this is one unhappy superhero!

Yet another 82....

..... crazy eh?
82 laps of the pool.... what is wrong with me???
And Saturday morning at 7, hill running!!!!
Am I a freak of nature?
Is it normal for a regular special ed teacher who is 29 to do this stuff?
I never used to be like this
I am looking forward to this 20 pound weight cut... going to have fun being active.
Alaina is already my aprtner in crime for the hill runs... any other takers for stuff???
I am supposed to be running outside for 30 minutes, any takers to make a three morning a week commitment?? let me know!!!
So, after the swim, I went to judo with Sensei Dave... I really like judo... I find it very hard to stay away!! I know I said before I left for the nationals that I was going to go away from judo for a while.. I tried to go away, but I couldn't handle it - I just like it too much!
Yep, that pretty much seals the deal... I am a lunatic!
